Geotagging

The Studio II project I’m working on right now is about using my house as an installation for a story I created based on “Einstein’s Dreams.” I like this idea of site specific installations; places where one can “geotag” locations within a set space and have a user/viewer/experiencer/walker listen to, depending on where they stand, a set of pre-arranged audio tracks. I imagine what they would look like: headphones on, some wandering to the north, others to the east, some tilting their heads to get a better frequency, others congregating to the same spots to hear the same track. I’ve gotten some great examples of this kind of work from “Literary Art in Digital Performance” by Francisco J. Ricardo.
